Angelina is an expert in formal insolvency appointments, corporate restructurings, complex commercial litigation and insolvency risk advice.  She provides expert advice to liquidators, voluntary administrators, receivers and secured creditors, along with corporate and individual clients, in both contentious and non-contentious matters.

Angelina advises and represents her clients across a wide spectrum of matters, including voidable transaction claims, shareholder disputes, loan enforcement and contractual disputes.  She has worked with numerous company directors facing financial distress, assisting them to find commercial solutions to complex issues.

Angelina has acted in numerous high-profile matters, appearing with and without Counsel before the Supreme and Federal Courts in both New South Wales and Victoria, in addition to other courts throughout Australia.

Examples of experience:

• Acting for two individual defendants in a multi-party proceeding involving a dispute arising out of the collapse of a property development group of companies. The claims included breach of fiduciary duty, knowing assistance and consequential damages.  Third party costs orders were ultimately obtained following judgment being delivered.
• Acting for the Receivers appointed to a national food retailer.
• Acting for various lenders including in connection with enforcement of loans involving disputes with other secured creditors and enforcement of security interests registered on the Personal Property Securities Register.
• Acting for the liquidators on an application made by them for the termination of the winding up of the company, which was subsequently subject to a DOCA (appeared without Counsel).
• Acting for the Administrator and Deed Administrator of various related entities in connection with their appointment as receiver of trust assets, and providing representation in connection with the preparation of a pooled Deed of Company Arrangement, issues arising out of the realisation of assets and matters arising out of the vesting of the trusts and lost trust deeds;
• Acting for the former director of a company in defending an insolvent trading claim and successfully challenging expert evidence on solvency.
• Acting for directors and shareholders of a mining company in connection with a shareholder dispute, secured lender dispute and restructuring.
• Acting for the trustee of the bankrupt estate to recover assets sufficient to annul the bankruptcy in defended proceedings.
